1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so that it can remember something about you between page views — for example, that you have already dismissed a banner. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps slightly larger pieces of information and is never sent to the server automatically. In this policy we use "cookie" to cover both, because the rules that protect you apply to both.
2. How we group them
We divide cookies into three categories. Essential cookies are needed for the Site to work and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies tell us, in aggregate, which pages people read. Functional cookies remember small choices you make so you do not have to make them again. Analytics and functional cookies are set only if you choose "Accept All" or enable them under "Preferences" in our banner.
3. The cookies we use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cricketindialy-cookie-consent | Essential | Stores your cookie choice (local storage) so the banner does not reappear on every page. | 12 months |
| __cf_bm | Essential | Set by Cloudflare to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic and protect the Site from attacks. | 30 minutes |
| _cfuvid | Essential | Set by Cloudflare to apply rate limits per visitor session. | Session |
| plausible_ignore | Analytics | Used by Plausible Analytics to exclude your own visits if you are an editor of the Site. | Persistent until removed |
| _pa_session | Analytics | Groups page views into a single visit so we can measure how many guides a reader opens. | 30 minutes |
| cid_text_size | Functional | Remembers a larger text size if you have chosen one on an article page. | 6 months |
| cid_last_guide | Functional | Remembers the last guide you read so the home page can suggest the next one. | 30 days |
4. Changing your choice on this Site
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key cricketindialy-cookie-consent. To see the banner again and choose differently, clear site data for cricketindialy.click in your browser settings (instructions below) and reload any page. Rejecting non-essential cookies never affects how the articles display.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
All modern browsers let you view, delete and block cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop the banner from remembering your choice, but the guides will still be readable.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to reject non-essential cookies and the banner will default to that choice. We also honour the older Do Not Track header in the same way.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie we will update the table above and the effective date. If a change adds a new non-essential cookie, the banner will ask for your consent again.
